Job Descriptions of the Commissions of the Department of Agricultural Economics

  1. Quality and Accreditation Commission

Duties: • Carry out preparations related to the accreditation processes of the undergraduate and graduate programs of the department. • Determine annual goals, activities, and performance indicators for the development of programs. • Evaluate recommendations from the undergraduate and graduate education commissions and prepare reports on program updates. • Review the results of student evaluation surveys and provide suggestions for improvement. • Develop suggestions for trainer-training programs supporting the professional development of academic staff. • Follow current developments related to accreditation institutions and carry out the necessary preliminary preparations.

  1. International Relations and Erasmus Commission

Duties: • Develop collaborations to enhance the department’s international visibility. • Initiate efforts to organize international meetings and events. • Strengthen partnerships with European institutions within the scope of Erasmus. • Guide visiting foreign academics and provide necessary information. • Assist students and academic staff planning educational or academic activities abroad. • Organize information meetings where international experiences are shared.

  1. Academic Advising Commission

Duties: • Monitor academic advising processes, evaluate advisor and student surveys at the end of each semester, and provide improvement suggestions. • Organize an information and orientation program for all students at the beginning of the academic year. • Ensure regular communication between students and advisors, and follow the completion of required academic documents.

  1. Information Technologies and Surveys Commission

Duties: • Monitor the operation of computers and educational tools used in the department and coordinate their maintenance. • Keep an up-to-date inventory of all technical equipment and record its use in courses. • Manage the preparation, implementation, and reporting of surveys applied to internal and external stakeholders.

  1. Undergraduate Education Commission

Duties: • Review similar programs in Turkey and abroad to develop appropriate elective course recommendations for the department. • Evaluate course contents and weekly schedules based on Bologna standards and identify conflicts. • Prepare undergraduate course schedules for fall and spring semesters. • Create exam calendars and organize duty distribution. • Keep records related to courses and respond to data requests from relevant commissions. • Collaborate with the related commission to prepare student evaluation surveys.

  1. Graduate Education Commission

Duties: • Prepare graduate course schedules for fall and spring semesters. • Arrange exam calendars, duty distributions, and exam lists. • Make necessary preparations for quota planning and advisor assignment processes. • Organize graduate seminar programs. • Share updates on graduates with relevant commissions and ensure data is transferred to the database. • Provide recommendations regarding its activities.

  1. Data Collection, Documentation, and Graduation Thesis Commission

Duties: • Archive data related to the department’s scientific activities in digital format and manage the database. • Record all academic activities such as articles, projects, seminars, conferences, graduate studies, and editorial works. • Archive course, student, and achievement records related to undergraduate and graduate education. • Prepare the department’s annual activity report and submit it to the Chair. • Provide necessary information to the related commission for promotional materials. • Monitor updates to the alumni database. • Organize graduation project and seminar topics based on suggestions from academic staff. • Form seminar groups and distribute topics. • Prepare the seminar program and implementation guidelines. • Contribute to updating training related to presentation techniques and seminar content. • Provide information on supports such as TÜBİTAK for thesis studies.

  1. Graduation Thesis Commission

Duties: • Organize graduation project and seminar topics based on suggestions from academic staff. • Form seminar groups and distribute topics. • Prepare the seminar program and implementation guidelines. • Contribute to updating training related to presentation techniques and seminar content. • Provide information on supports such as TÜBİTAK for thesis studies.

  1. Department Promotion and Alumni Relations Commission

Duties: • Plan activities to strengthen the department’s visibility and evaluate public outreach opportunities. • Prepare, update, and distribute promotional materials to various target groups. • Communicate with the business sector to collect feedback for improving educational processes. • Make preparations to represent the department at university and faculty promotional events. • Organize orientation and introduction activities for new students. • Maintain regular contact with the private sector and share job opportunities and demands with graduates. • Collaborate with professional organizations and follow joint activities. • Provide students with information about the Yetenek Kapısı platform in cooperation with the Career Center.

  1. Institutional Relations and Internship Commission

Duties: • Inform students about internship procedures. • Ensure students are directed to appropriate internship placements and make planning according to the internship calendar. • Plan internship quotas and prepare internship programs. • Collect and evaluate required internship documents. • Monitor the compliance of the internship process, communicate with institutions, and conduct inspections when necessary. • Develop collaborations with the public and private sectors to increase internship opportunities. • Identify the needs of internship-providing organizations and submit improvement suggestions to the Department Chair. • Provide information to the relevant commission for archiving internship data. • Prepare internship programs for foreign interns.

  1. Social Activities Commission

Duties: • Plan and conduct social activities for department staff. • Organize introduction and socialization events for new students. • Keep records of the social fund. • Organize purchasing processes to meet the needs of the department and other commissions. • Provide necessary support to other commissions.

  1. Exemption Commission

Duties: • Evaluate exemption applications for undergraduate and graduate courses and conduct the related procedures. • Review course contents and scopes to make academic evaluations regarding exemptions.
